Pro-Am in Seaforth to support Tanner Steffler Foundation

The annual Seaforth Country Classic Pro-Am will be played Friday at the Seaforth Golf Course.

Co-Ordinator Carolanne Doig says the pandemic forced the cancellation of the actual Country Classic again this year because they weren't able to get the times or the pros they needed.

But Doig says they wanted to go ahead with the Pro-Am and support the Tanner Steffler Foundation.

There is a full house of 20 professional golfers coming and a team of amateurs to play with each of them.

Among the celebrities, retired master professional Bruce Murray, reigning Canadian silver medalists in pairs figure skating Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud, and former NHLer Dave McLlwain.

“The pros will be playing for $3,600 in skins money, which is the lowest score in a hole. They're also playing for closest to the hole on all the par threes and they're each worth a hundred dollars,” said Doig.

Doig says the tournament will start shotgun style at 1 p.m. Friday and spectators are welcome to watch and there is no charge for that.
