Hockey families mourn passing of Carter Schoonderwoerd of Mitchell
Local hockey families are mourning the sudden passing of of Mitchell native Carter Schoonderwoerd.
The 19-year old played for the St. Marys Lincolns, Stratford Warriors and was a Peterborough Petes Prospect. He was selected by the Petes in the 11th round in the the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.
He was also captain of the Huron-Perth Lakers U16 team during his time with the organization.
Numerous teams and teammates shared their condolences with the family after news of his passing last night.
