Lucknow runner conquers USATF event in California

Lucknow's Julie-Anne Staehli ran under the Olympic standard time and set a personal best to win the women's 5,000 m race at the USATF Golden Games in California late Sunday.

Staehli finished the race in 15:02:34.

It's not the first event this year that Staehlie has excelled in this year. She also set the Canadian record for the two mile race at the New Balance Grand Prix in New York City in February and finished third in that event.

Staehli ran for Queen's from 2012-13 to 2016-17 and was named Female Varsity Athlete of the Year in her fifth year. She was a five time All-Canadian and also competed for Canada at the World University Games in Uganda.

While still competing, Staehli also coaches in the London area.
