The Ontario Men's Tankard is going to be played out at the Port Elgin Curling Club next year.
The event is scheduled for February 9 to 13 at the Plex.
The Ontario Men's Tankard will determine the representative for the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier which will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta.
“We have been awarded the 2022 Tankard plus our annual Superspiel is going to become a sponsored World Curling Tour event. We, as a community, have all of the ingredients to attract other curling events, and all of the benefits from them. Once we get the 2022 Ontario Tankard under our belts there are other opportunities if we choose them,” said Steering Committee Chair Doug Flowers.
Organizers say more than 200 volunteers from throughout Bruce and Grey counties will be needed for the event.
Saturday is Curling Day in Canada and special events will be held at the Port Elgin Curling Club including the Official Launch of the 2022 Ontario Tankard.
