Durham U14 team wins 2020 OASA Provincial Championship

The Durham U14 softball team has won the 2020 Ontario Amateur Softball Association Provincial Championship.

This year's tournament was hosted in Tara during the August 29th and 30th weekend. COVID-19 Return to Play Guidelines created two bubbles of four teams each, so that all participants could enjoy safe play.

Division teams playing Durham included Tara, Baden and St. George. Durham won game 1 against Tara 11-2, game 2 was won with an 8-1 score over Baden and game 3 produced a 9-5 win over St. George. Durham took on Str. George again in the final, which saw a dominant 12-1 Durham victory.

The Durham U14 team is led by manager, John Kollias, and coaches John Nixon and Brent Marshall. The team was formed two years ago. New Hamburg (Wilmot) won the championship of the other group division.

The Durham U14 roster is as follows:

Codee Rahn, Max Rahn, Dylan Marshall, Avery Kostal, Ben Plume, Liam Rusnak, Luke Marshall, Tate Watson, Dawson Marshall and Jack Kollias.
