Clinton Raceway hosts annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot

Clinton Raceway hosted their annual Vic Hayter Memorial Trot on Sunday, August 30th.

The annual event is in memory of the former Stratford hotelier Vic Hayter, who was a big part of Clinton Raceway's history. Scene A Magician won the final trot on the day, as the horse and driver Greg Dustin took home the $15,000 purse for owner and trainer Jennifer Pinkerton of Mount Brydges.

Travis Henry took home 3 driving wins on the day as he prepares for his debut in the Annual Charity Driver's Challenge on September 6 with Arcane Seelster in the fourth, What Can I Say in the sixth and Kempenfelt in race seven.

Raceway caretakers were celebrated on Caretaker Appreciation Day as the raceway and the Hayter family provided lunch. 11 caretakers were randomly chosen as winner's of prizing, donated by C.O.S.A, the follow will each receive a $100 HPIbet card. Those selected were as follows:

Caretaker Appreciation Day is and initiative of Standardbred Canada. The 2020 finale for Clinton Raceway goes next weekend, on Sunday, September 6th, and features the 40th Annual Charity Driver's Challenge as well as Ontario Sired two year old filly pacers. The action gets underway at 1:30 p.m., and fans can watch and wager online.
