Some upsets at Clinton

Sunday's card kicked off with Racing Under Saddle, seeing Lets Leavem, leaving the field in the dust for a visit to the winner's circle for the first time this year for driver Amber Lawson Brand and trainer/owner Sarah Town.

Race 4 held the first division of the Prospect Series and it was an upset for winner Mr Cheeseman. After 10 starts in 2020 and not a single trip to the winner's circle, the Better than Cheddar colt was able to seal the deal for driver Travis Henry and trainer Scott McNiven in gate to wire fashion, in a time of 1:58.4 and returning $16.80 on the win ticket.

The second division for the 3 year old colt pacers was another upset, wagering favourite and six for six winner this season, Dreaming Out Loud didn't have quite enough in the tank to hold off Big Sir, driven gate to wire by Alfie Carrol and Trained by Rebecca Geisel for owner Rick Rier in a time of 1:56, a career best.

A limited number of fans were welcomed back track side for the first time in the 2020 season and just over $68,000 was wagered.

Live racing resumes next Sunday, August 2, with a post time of 1:30 p.m.
