Cyclones strike first, Siskins come back

In the GOJHL, the Listowel Cyclones had some stats on their side but not the final score.

Listowel lost 3-1 in Waterloo Sunday afternoon, despite out shooting Waterloo 40-21.

Tyler Healey gave Listowel the lead with a short handed goal at 4:55 of the second period after a scoreless first. But then Waterloo scored three unanswered goals, including two which were just 25 seconds apart. The first was a power play goal at 16:29 of the second period, the second coming at 16:54. Waterloo would add an insurance marker in the third.

Dixon Grimes stopped 18 of 21 shots for Listowel while Waterloo goalie Tanner Wickware stopped 39 shots.

The Listowel Cyclones still sit fourth in the conference, three points ahead of Stratford after the Warriors lost 3-1 to Kitchener.

Cambridge surprised Elmira 6-3 as the Red Hawks now have 36 points on the season, two behind Kitchener. Elmira leads the group with 40.

Listowel's next game will be Friday, November 29 at home against Brampton then the Cyclones will travel to Brampton for a game on Saturday, November 30.
