Listowel Cyclones pass first pre-season test

The Listowel Cyclones suited up for a game situation for the first time this season Wednesday night.

The pre-season contest was in Elmira.

The Sugar Kings jumped out to a 3-1 lead with three goals in just over four minutes in the second period. The Cyclones were able to chip away at that point and ended up tying the game at four in the third period.

Carter McLlwain scored the winnner, 1:50 into OT. That was his second goal of the night and part of his 3-point effort.

Chet Hudson, Trent Verbeek, and Cam Knight also scored.

Listowel's next tune up is Friday at the Steve Kerr at 7:30 p.m. versus Strathroy.

The Cyclones' season begins September 7th at the GOJHL Showcase in Pelham and their home opener is September 13th versus Brampton.
