Seaforth Country Classic a success

Another successful Seaforth Country Classic is in the books, and coordinator Carolanne Doig says the weather was great and all of the players raved about the condition of the Seaforth course.

They had a field of 64 players, but one concern is that this was the second year they had men and women playing together, but they only had seven women.

"I have some friends who used to play on the LPGA tour and they're coaching young women now, so we're gonna reach out to them because those kids are looking for places to play. We have one girl from Mexico here and two girls from the States, so we're happy to draw them from wherever they can come from."

Doig says they raised about five thousand dollars for the Tanner Steffler Foundation and that brings the total amount raised by the tournament over the years to more than 125-thousand dollars for medical-related charities.
