Double OT finisher brings series back to Listowel

The Listowel Cyclones double downed on their road effort in Game 5 in London and came away with a win to force Game 6 in the Sutherland Cup semi-final.

And it worked from the crease out for the Cyclones. Evan Morrison made 44 saves to give his team a chance.

And that chance came in double overtime when Chayse Herrfort was able to break in short handed and score the winner just 3:02 into the period.

It was another close affair with both teams stabbing back and forth through the game early. Cyclones' forward Holdyn Lansink scored the the opening goal of the game at 11:11 of the second period and London tied it on a Riley MacRae slap shot at 9:54 of the third.

Both teams power plays couldn't get anything going with Listowel 0-for-6, including a chance in the first overtime. And London's power play went 0-for-5.

It was the third consecutive game in the series that has gone into overtime and the fourth consecutive game decided by just a goal.

London still has the 3-2 series lead with Game 6 Friday night in Listowel at 7:30PM. Cherrey Buslines OHA Hockey with have the call for you.

Advanced tickets for the game will be sold at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena between 7:00PM and 8:00PM Thursday night.
