Cottrill's ready for national curling run

32 teams from across Canada make up the contingent for the 2019 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship in Fredericton, NB.

Belgrave's Katie and Shawn Cottrill go in representing Ontario but they are not the only team from the province competing. The Cottrill's competed for the Wingham Golf and Curling Club and will be joined by Listowel's Catherine and Chris Liscumb and Strathroy's Kimberly and Wayne Tuck at the nationals.

And there are some other heavy weights in the mix including Jennifer Jones and Brent Laing representing Oro-Medonte.

The teams are divided into four pools of eight teams. The Cottrills are in Pool A and will play one game Tuesday at 7 p.m. followed by two games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Listowel's duo, the Liscumbs, are in Pool D and will also play one game Tuesday and two games the rest of the way.

After the round robin, the top 12 teams will advance to Saturday's playoff round with teams 5 through 12 paired off to in the first round. The winners from those matches will then advance to the second round along with teams seeded 1 through 4.

The semi-finals and final will be on Sunday.
