Cyclones make awards sweep for month of October

The defending Cherrey and Sutherland Cup champs are showing no signs of slowing down.

The Listowel Cyclones have rattled off 11 straight wins, and now sit atop the GOJHL's Midwestern Conference with 13 wins and 27 points, one better than Stratford's 26. As a result of their big run, they cleaned up the October awards for Offensive Player of the Month going to Holdyn Lansink (15 G, 22A for 37 pts. in 16 games), Defensive Player of the Month going to Brendan Clayton (6 A for 6 pts, 32 PIMs in 16 games played) and Goaltender of the Month went to rookie youngster Riley McCabe for a second straight time (11-1-0 with 4 shutouts, a 1.39 GAA and a .942 save percentage).

The Cylones are rolling despite losing a large chunk of their championship roster, and continue to play well under the guidance of Head Coach Jason Brooks. Their next game is live on CKNX AM920 this Friday, November 9th as the Cyclones welcome the Elmira Sugar Kings to the Steve Kerr Memorial for a 7:30 puck drop. Be sure to tune in as Steve Sabourin and Scott Bridge have the call.
