Guelph Hurricanes To Relocate To Cambridge For 2018-19 Season

A shakeup in the GOJHL.

The Guelph Hurricanes will be relocating to Cambridge to become the Cambridge Jr. B Redhawks, starting with the 2018-19 season, and will play out of the Galt Arena Gardens. The OHA approved the move yesterday, after a lengthy speculation that a new franchise would be coming to Cambridge following the departure of the Cambridge Winterhawks after owners Joe Machado and Paul Williamson declined to renew the team for the 2017-18 GOJHL season.

Guelph's Jr. B journey began in Hespeler and later Cambridge, where the team played until 1982 when Joe Holody bought the Shamrocks and moved them to Guelph to become the Holody Platers.
