Silver Stick Finals In Forest

The Wingham Peewee Rep team is an International Silver Stick champion.

The team won the "C" final, 4-3 in overtime over East Lambton. Tyler Becker scored the winner. Nate Bloemberg scored twice and Micah Kraayenbrink scored once.

Goalie Ewan Sangster made some key stops through the final and was named to the tournament all-star team. Joining him were forwards Nate Bloemberg, Cole Schouten and defenseman Nathan Deans.

It is the first time that a Wingham minor hockey team has won at the international tournament level. The team qualified by winning the Kincardine Regional Tournament the weekend before.

The South Bruce Midget Rep team also made it to the "C" final.

Facing Hatfield from the U.S., the Blades lost 2-1 in overtime.
