Last night, North Perth Council honoured the 4 local baseball teams who won Ontario Baseball Association championships this summer.

Listowel Minor Baseball won championships in Rookie D, Mosquito C, Bantam C and Midget D levels. Midget Coach Jeff Bannerman, who also sits on the Listowel Minor Baseball board, says it was a great honour to be welcomed and celebrated by council.

“It’s something that the kids can look back on in their life, and recognize that they don’t usually get that honour. It’s a special occasion.”

Bannerman says the community support was amazing all year, and it helped push the kids to achieving their championships goals.

“We’ve had great support from the community at our Listowel Minor Ball Day, and through sponsorships and the sponsors stepping up to put jerseys on the kids backs, and it’s always been fantastic.”
