Dream of Glory This Weekend

The Hanover Raceway is holding its 14th Annual Dream of Glory Trot this weekend.
There are 25 horses including 10 fillies entered in the eliminations and they will be split into four races. The top two finishers from each race will advance to the $75,000 final on Saturday, August 1st.There are several local horses competing including Renegade Magic owned by Jeff and Lori Thomson of Chesley.  The 3-year-old filly drew post one in Race 1 on Saturday. In 6 starts she has three wins including 1:57 win in her last start at Georgian Downs.Another local filly in the competition is Tymal Signature. The filly is co-owned by Mark Etsell and Bob Newton of Walkerton and Steve Organ of Aurora. She has three wins in 18 starts and over $52,000 earned this season.

Hemi Seelster is highlighting Race 3 with $160,000 earned. The gelding has just one win in eight starts but the win was in the final of the Goodtimes Trot at Mohawk in 1:54.

Also in Race 3 is Namesmuscle owned by John Patterson of Bayfield. The 3-year-old colt won his start at a Grassroots OSS event in 1:56.3 at Mohawk and was second in an OSS Gold event at London back in May.

Striking Ivy is another local filly, owned and bred by Bloomingwood Farms of Harriston. She had earned over $42,000 already. She starts from post 6 in Race 3 outside of Hemi Seelster and Namesmuscle.

In Race 6, Meadow Seelster owned by bill Dixon of Caledon takes to the track. The filly has two wins in nine starts including a 1:56.1 in her last start at Georgian Downs.

Race 7 includes Its Huw You Know owned by Doug McCarthy of Halland Landing. The 3-year-old gelding has two wins in eleven starts and close to $25,000 earned.

Pridecrest, owned by Langcrest Farms of Grand Valley is also competing and has yet to win in 5 starts. The gelding is coming off a third place finish at Kawartha Downs.

Dream of Glory also includes a live band, barbecue, and fireworks after the races.

Close to five thousand people are expected to attend.
