Palmerston born, Drayton raised forward Nick Spaling is now a Toronto Maple Leaf.
The former Listowel Cyclone was involved in the July 1 trade that sees Phil Kessel join the Pittsburgh Penguins. Two prospects (Scott Harrington and Kasperi Kapanen) along with a pair of draft picks also come to Toronto. Tyler Biggs, Tim Erixon and a pick go the other way and the Leafs will retain $1.25 million per year of Kessel's salary.
Spaling makes the move out of Pittsburgh after only one season. The 26-year-old had 27 points in 82 games last season.
This is also the second time he has been involved in a major deal. Spaling joined the Penguins from Nashville in a trade that saw James Neal go the other way.
