Bulldogs Bite Into Wingham Series Lead

The Kincardine Bulldogs are still hanging on in the Western Junior C semi-finals.

Kincardine came out of Wingham with a 4-3 overtime win Wednesday night, thanks to a goal by Gerrit Satosek at 12:51 mark of the extra period.

Wingham had a 3-1 lead with under five minutes to play in the second period thanks to goals by J. J. Harland and Ryan McNeil in the first period and a Brett Brophy powerplay marker at 15:49 in the second.  But Shawn Moore scored for Kincardine with under two minutes to play in the second period and tied it up early in the third period.

The team's exchanged chances in the third and with nothing solved, went into overtime.

The Ironmen took five penalties in the third period, giving the Bulldogs the bulk of the powerplays but Kincardine could not capitalize.

In fact, Kincardine was 0-7 on the powerplay and Wingham just 1-7.

Bulldogs netminder Mitch Campbell made 33 saves while Wingham goale Ben Nelson made 38.

Game 6 is in Kincardine on Friday night at 8:30pm with the Ironmen up 3-2 in the series.
