Rangers' Captain Says Slump Helped Players Focus

It's been an interesting year for the Kitchener Rangers.

They recorded at least a point in sixteen straight games at the beginning of the season and then went into an extended slump.    They traded away a few of their biggest scorers and then added an overage goaltender and won three straight games over the weekend.  Captain Liam Maaskant from Clinton says he doesn't think the slump really hurt them.

"I don't think the slump was bad for us," he says, "I think it simplified our game and put us through some adversity before we ramp up for the playoffs."

Maaskant adds the trade gave some of their younger players a chance to step up and play a bigger role for the team and they've responded.
