Team Canada Falls To Slovakia At Deutschland Cup

Canada's opening game at the 2014 Deutschland Cup didn't go as planned in a 4-1 loss to Slovakia.

The Canadians-a team made of players in European pro leagues-had some trouble on special teams. They surrendered one powerplay goal and one shorthanded goal to Slovakia.

The lone Goal was scored by Micki Dupont early in the third. It came on the powerplay assisted by Steve Reinprecht. Former NHL goalie Sebastian Caron made 25 saves in the losing effort.

Also on Team Canada is Lucknow native Bobby Raymond. The defenseman was not involved in the scoring.

Canada plays again tomorrow against Switzerland.
