Corey Conners Leads Canada At World’s

Listowel’s Corey Conners has helped Canada’s world amateur golf team be atop the leaderboard after the first round of the World Amateur Championship in Japan.

Team Canada fired a 10-under, 134 to share the lead with Sweden and Switzerland.

The 22-year old Conners carded a 6-under 66 to lead the way.
He carded five birdies on the front nine is one back of a Swedish golfer for the individual lead.

The two other Canadians on the team, Taylor Pendrith and Adam Svensson, , carded a 4-under 68 and 3-under 69 respectively.

Canada was one of 37 teams to break par in the first round.
