Seaforth Country Classic Underway

The seventh annual Seaforth Country Classic got underway this morning with Ken Doig Senior hitting the first drive. Ken and his brother Rod were responsible from converting the family farm into a golf course.
Tournament Co-Chair Carolanne Doig explains this year’s event is a three-day, no cut tournament and the field of 38 amateurs and pros includes Andrew Parr from London, last year’s winner Dave Markle, Lucas Kim who shot 59 at a recent tournament as well as local golfers Robyn and Paul Doig and Tony Greidanus.
The Canadian Diabetes Association is the charity for this years event and there is grand stand seating for fans around both the 9th and 18th greens. The tournament wraps up on Sunday afternoon.
