Mr. Peters Goes To Washington

27-year old Justin Peters will play for the Washington Capitals this season.

The Blyth native’s name and picture is already part of the Capitals’ website under the team roster section and is expected to be the back-up to Braden Holtby.  It’s a 2-year contract.

Peters started his NHL career with the Carolina Hurricanes and moved between the AHL and NHL since 2009, first with the Albany River Rats, then the Charlotte Checkers.

In 68 NHL games, Peters was 22-31-0-8 with 3 shutouts, and a .904 save percentage.
