After 10 seasons in the WOAA – 7 as the Lucan-Ilderton Jets and 3 as the Komoka Classics – the team is ceasing operations.

In a statement on a WOAA internet forum, General Manager Rob Andrews cites poor attendance, rising operating costs and 15 players deciding to retire after winning the WOAA Senior ‘AA’ Championship as reasons for the decision.

During the 10 years, the team also won two ‘A’ Championships and the team had a winning percentage over 700.

Andrews says it was not an easy decision, but adds the time was right to make this call and most players agreed it was a great way to go out.

He also expressed thanks everyone involved with the Senior League from Exec. Director Linda Espensen to the Senior Hockey Committee Ref Assignor Elaine Shropshall and the two Supervisors Gary and Dave also Hugh and his great job in keeping stats.
