Charity Hockey Game Raises Money for Defibrillators

A charity hockey game between the Huron County OPP and the Goderich Fire Department raised just under $4,600. OPP Constable Jamie Stanley presented the cheque at the Goderich Y yesterday afternoon. Stanley says the arena was packed for the Guns and Hoses game won by the Hoses by a score of 10 to 6.

Stanley explains the proceeds will be divided between the YWCA Strong Kids Campaign which provides financial support to help young people get involved in Y programs and the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund which purchases defibrillators and places them in public places and meeting places. Stanley says there are 32 defibrillators in place now throughout Huron County.
