Owen Sound Attack 2014 OHL Draft

The Owen Sound Attack have selected defenseman Victor Mete from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the GTHL in the first round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.

Mete tallied 12 goals and 18 assists in 33 games played last season with the Jr. Canadiens.

Attack General Manager Dale DeGray says Victor is a high-end defenseman that has the potential to be one of the top rearguards in the OHL.

OHL Central Scouting describes Mete as an offensive defensemen that has great offensive skills and instincts. They say he is not a big player by any means, but he uses his quickness and skating ability to help him gain advantages on both the defensive and offensive side of the puck.

In the second round, the Owen Sound Attack have selected right winger William Knierim of the Chicago Mission, 32nd overall and 39th overall forward Jonah Gadjovich of the Whitby Wildcats.

Attack General Manager Dale DeGray says they addresses some size and scoring in the second round. He adds both players have huge upside and will make their building a very hard place to play in.

Knierim, had six goals, 19 assists and 52 penalty minutes, in 24 games last season.

Gadjovich, tallied 15 goals and 15 assists in 23 games with the Whitby Wildcats.
