Grey Bruce OPP lay 10 impaired driving charges in 11 days

Grey Bruce OPP are reminding drivers to stay sober behind the wheel, after they busted several alleged impaired drivers.

A total of 10 drivers, between the ages of 17 and 66, face various charges. Some of those include operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, possession of a schedule 1 substance, failure to report accident, failure or refusal to comply with demand, and driving with an open container of liquor.

"Grey Bruce OPP would like to take this time to remind those who are consuming cannabis and/or alcohol that it's never okay to drive impaired," said the detachment in a statement to the media. "Impaired driving puts everyone at risk and is something the Grey Bruce OPP take very seriously."

They remind that an impaired driving offence will result in criminal charges, an automatic 30-day license suspension, and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

All drivers charged are scheduled to appear in court.
