Wellington County Museum opens new playground

The Wellington County Museum and Archives held a ribbon cutting Saturday for the opening of their new playground.

The playground incorporated ideas from local youth into its design, which was themed around agriculture.

“We would like to thank the many children that provided their drawings for what the playground should look like, we built this space for you, so thank you for all your input and suggestions,” said Warden Andy Lennox.

The County budgeted $210,000 for the project.

“The County recognizes the value in inspiring children and providing a dynamic space where kids feel inspired to learn about past, present and future, and this playground is one more addition to that experience,” said Mary Lloyd, Information, Heritage and Seniors Committee Chair.

Now open for all to enjoy, you can find the new playground at the museum, located on Wellington Road 18, between Fergus and Elora.
