Two charged in Listowel drug bust

Two people face a list of charges after a raid by on a home in Listowel turned up weapons and thousands of dollars worth of hard drugs.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police searched a home on Derry Street East last Wednesday. According to police, officers seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone with an approximate value of $7,690. They also seized over $200 in cash, weapons, and stolen property.

A 33-year-old man from North Perth is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a probation order, possession of methamphetamine, possession of an opioid (other than heroin), three counts of possession of a firearm contrarty to a prohibition order, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply with a release order, and possession of a prohibited device or ammunitiion.

A 31-year-old woman from North Perth is charged with possession of methamphetamine, obstructing a peace officer, possession of a Schedule 1 subtance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a release order, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance - opioid (other than heroin).

Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
