Two teen scammers caught in Collingwood

Collingwood and Blue Mountain OPP charged two Quebec teens this week allegedly connected to ongoing "emergency scams".

Police say two attempted scams were reported on May 2, where someone claiming to be related to the victims attempted to collect $7,000 from each. The scammer arranged to have a bailiff attend the victims residences to collect funds and police were contacted ahead of time.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old from Laval and a 19-year-old from Sainte-Thérèse were both charged with fraud over $5,000. Both were held for a bail hearing.
