No one was injured in a fire that totaled a Clinton home Monday morning.
Firefighters from Central Huron and Huron East responded to a call at an Ontario Street house around 7 a.m.
Central Huron fire chief Dave Renner says the fire started in the garage.
"The garage was fully involved when we arrived on scene," he said. "Unfortunately it got into the attic of the house and the only way that we could get at the fire was to bring in some heavy equipment and start tearing the building apart. Once we did that, the building official was on scene and deemed it unsafe so we ended up destroying the whole house, pulling it all down."

The cause of the fire is undetermined, but not considered suspicious.
"It did start in the garage and at this time, we're thinking electrical but we're not 100 per cent sure on that," aid Renner. "Apparently the son was there at 6:30 a.m. and was in the building, in the garage, and nothing was showing at that time. The neighbours said they heard large explosions so we have no idea, there was nothing they could think that was plugged in other than the light was on."
Renner added the residents were able to get out thanks to working smoke alarms. Unfortunately, there are still three cats that are unaccounted for.
The family has been in contact with Victims Services Huron County and have a place to stay Monday night.
