The City of Stratford is celebrating after bringing home an award.
The Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) has recognized the City of Stratford’s Economic Development Corporation, investStratford.
The city received an award for its “Why Stratford?” video and campaign with the Investment Attraction – Rural Award for a population under 100,000. The video focuses on the experience of the German-owned company Cleanfix North America, as it located its North American headquarters in Stratford in 2010. It showed how the location, and the city's track record, can attract internationally recognized businesses.
“It is very satisfying to be recognized by EDCO and I am proud of the work we do for the City and its businesses. Stratford continues to be a very attractive option for businesses and I’m pleased to illustrate through our marketing efforts, why businesses should be interested in establishing, expanding or relocating here,” said Joani Gerber CEO, investStratford.
"I’m very proud of the efforts of investStratford and am pleased that they have received the recognition they deserve for their hard work. They are devoted to keeping our local and provincial economies growing and I am happy they have been recognized,” said City of Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma.
The video was produced in partnership with local media company Little Big Creative. An awards dinner was held in Toronto on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
