One dead, one in critical condition after crash near Mount Forest

A deadly crash near Mount Forest on Monday afternoon led police to initiate a lengthy closure in the area where the incident took place.
According to Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a serious collision at around 1 p.m. along Highway 6 just south of Mount Forest. Police say early investigation indicated that two SUVs collided resulting in serious injuries of both drivers.
Paramedics arrived on scene and took a 48-year-old woman from Mount Forest to hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A 46-year-old man, also from Mount Forest, was airlifted to a nearby trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
As a result, Highway 6 between. Sideroads 3 and 5 remain was closed through most of the evening while members of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) unit investigated the scene.
