UWPH is accepting applications for Government of Canada funding

United Way Perth Huron is now accepting applications for new Government of Canada funding.

UWPH Director Governance & Community Impact Megan Partridge says the Community Services Recovery Fund is meant to help not-for-profits and charities to adapt coming through COVID. “So whereas before we were helping to give out funds specifically for programming throughout COVID to help individuals in our community, this is really meant to strengthen those organizations that are still providing support to individuals in our community,” said Partridge.

Partridge said that could be things like revamping services or helping to modernize services, because charities and not-for-profits often don't have those opportunities.

“This is new funding that was announced last year, so this funding will be in the hands of organizations to use for the work they're going to do for about a year. And they've got until February 21st to apply, so there's a good amount of time to apply,” she added.

Partridge says the United Way is collaborating with United Way Centraide Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and Community Foundations of Canada. More information about how to apply and directions as to who each application should go to can be found on the Community Services Recovery Fund website.
