Huron County's Warden looks to the future

Huron County's Warden says council would like to see more people move into Huron County in the next year.

Glen McNeil told CKNX News Today that will definitely generate the need for more housing.

“I would suggest that as more residents move into Huron County and the reality is that we have an aging demographic in our population, we need to be aware of the healthcare pressures and address and plan for these," said McNeil. "And I can assure everyone that this is on the radar of Huron County.”

McNeil added the need for more housing will continue and more housing is currently being built around the county.

“There will be other challenges that arise in '23, just as COVID arose and we were unaware of that in advance," warned McNeil. "However, I can assure the residents of Huron County that Huron County council will address any of the challenges that come and figure out a way to move forward.”
