Bruce Power promotes nuclear at COP27

Bruce Power was part of the Canadian delegation at the recent UN climate conference, COP27, in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.

Director of Community, Media Relations & Economic Development, John Peevers said nuclear power is a necessary part of a zero carbon future.

"Lots of people don't recognize that Bruce Power is a zero-emitting technology," said Peevers. "I think there is a growing understanding that if we are going to reach net-zero targets provincially, federally, and internationally, nuclear has to be part of that conversation."

Bruce Power's head of corporate affairs, Pat Dalzell attended the conference.

"I think more importantly than the talk that happens is that we're doing things, we're increasing output which is helping Ontario meet its net-zero targets," explained Peevers. "[We're] providing 30 per cent of Ontario's electricity everyday. Clean, reliable, low cost electricity that we need to power our economy."
