Police investigating a series of overnight thefts

The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) is investigating a number of thefts that occurred overnight between Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13.

Most of the thefts came from vehicles, police said, but a break and enter into a residential garage resulted in approximately $8000 worth of tools and sporting gear being stolen.

OSPS said the homeowner reported two Norco Charger mountain bikes, a Blue Wave stand-up paddle board, a Mig Welder, an Echo chainsaw, a Stihl pole saw, and numerous DeWalt tools amongst the stolen items.

The suspects are believed to left the area by the catwalk located between the 1100 block and 1200 block of 6th Avenue West. Police said it's possible they had a vehicle waiting in the area.

Anyone in the area that may have home security systems or information is asked to contact OSPS or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
