Huron Clean Water Project member needed

Huron County is seeking an individual to join the Huron Clean Water Project’s Review Committee as a Community Representative (HCWP).

HCWP is a grant-funding program offered by Huron County with the goal of facilitating a broad variety of projects which improve and protect water quality in Huron County.

The HCWP Review Committee is comprised of two County Councillors, and two public members, including an Agricultural Representative and a Community Representative.

This Committee meets five times per year to review stewardship project applications that have been submitted by Huron County landowners.

Position Details:

• This position has a 4-year term, with the option for renewal by County Council.

• Meetings occur on the second Friday of February, April, June, September, and November. Each meeting is approximately 3 hours (9:00am-12:00), with lunch provided afterwards.

• Meetings take place at the Huron County Planning and Development Office (57 Napier Street, Goderich) with a hybrid meeting option.

• Review Committee Members are paid an honorarium of $188.95 for each half day meeting attended.

• Past experience implementing water quality improvement projects is not required, but is considered an asset.

• Knowledge and/or experience in a field related to the HCWP Funding Categories is considered a strong asset.
