Kincardine first responders ask people to exercise caution around water

Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services confirms that personnel from both of its stations have been dispatched to four water rescue incidents in Lake Huron since July 26th.

On two of those occasions, rescuers had to enter the water to safely bring those at risk to shore.

In a note on Facebook, KFES says that although their personnel have undertaken comprehensive training for water rescue scenarios, their hope is to rarely have to utilize those skills, and ask that beach-goers exercise caution and sound judgement when participating in activities on the lake.

Two of the incidents involved overturned boats, one involved a kayaker in distress and one was someone that was swimming alone.
