Teen girl assaulted and robbed in Port Elgin

Police in Saugeen Shores are investigating a disturbing incident in Port Elgin where a teenage girl was reportedly attacked and robbed in broad daylight.

The incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to Saugeen Shores Police Service.

During that time, police say a female, described as a mid-teen, was walking on Market Street near Nodwell Park between Highland and Geddes streets when she was accosted by two men who are said to have forced her into the wooded area nearby, out of sight from the street.

Once in the wooded area, police say the girl was physically assaulted by the men and her cell phone was stolen. The suspects were last seen walking west through the woods in the direction of Geddes Street, while the victim ran the opposite way towards Parkwood Drive.

Both suspects are described as young white men. One of the men is approximately 6'2", with a thin build and short, brown fluffy-styled hair. He may also have blue or green eyes, a thin, long face, wearing a grey hoodie with a zipper and a blue surgical mask.

The other man is described as shorter, around 5'5", with a heavier build, wearing a black hoodie with a zipper, dirty, ripped, light blue jeans and a blue surgical mask. The other suspect may have also been wearing an orange ball cap, police say he may also have been limping.

The girl attacked by the men has long brown hair, is tall with a thin build and was wearing a navy blue hoodie, grey track pants and pink sandals.

Police say officers and the K9 Unit immediately searched the area once they were made aware of the incident. The suspects have not been located and the investigation continues.
