Regular vaccination catch-up clinics delayed by pandemic to be held this month

Two local health units will be hosting regular vaccination catch-up clinics for students this month.

Huron Perth Public Health and the Grey Bruce Health Unit will both host clinics for regular mandatory school vaccinations. Routine immunizations for school-age youth include protection against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap vaccine), human papillomavirus (HPV vaccine), hepatitis B (Hep B vaccine) and meningococcal disease (MenC-ACYW-135 vaccine).

Releases from both health units say that "disruptions to healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic have meant that many youth have not been able to stay up to date on immunizations."

COVID-19 vaccines will not be administered at these clinics.

A schedule of the May in- school clinics for Grey-Bruce is available here: https://www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/Your-Health/Immunization/When-and-Where.
