Midwestern Ontario could see a flash freeze followed by snow squalls

There's a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada for Bruce, Grey, Perth, Huron and Wellington Counties.

Above freezing temperatures spread across southern Ontario this morning and highs today are expected to be in the low to mid single digits. Late this afternoon, a cold front will push through the region which will cause temperatures to abruptly drop below freezing in time for the evening commute.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

There is also a snow squall watch in effect for Southern Bruce, Huron and Perth Counties

Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron are expected beginning this evening into Thursday night. Local snowfall amounts between15 to 25 cm. are expected. Significantly reduced visibilities due to heavy snow and local blowing snow.
