COVID-19 continues to spread in Midwestern Ontario.

Huron Perth Public Health is reporting nine residents hospitalized with COVID-19 Thursday. 88 new cases were confirmed for a total of 1,262 active cases.  There are five outbreaks in long-term care homes, and five in retirement homes, along with one hospital outbreak. The virus has claimed 78 lives.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health reported 35 residents hospitalized with the virus. There are five outbreaks in Wellington County long-term care, retirement homes, and hospitals. 41 new cases were added in Wellington County,  where there are 378 active cases. 41 Wellington County residents died due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported 15 residents in hospital with the virus. There are ten outbreaks in retirement or long term care homes. And an outbreak at Owen Sound hospital. In total, 27 residents have died due to COVID-19. 54 new cases were added Thursday. There are 245 active cases.

Ontario is reporting 3,630 people hospitalized with COVID-19 Thursday, including 500 people in the ICU with the virus.
