New CT scanner and addition closer to reality for Kincardine hospital

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre released the tender for the construction of an addition to Kincardine hospital for a new CT scanner.

Officials announced Wednesday night that the ministry of health approved the release of the tender and it was made public on December 22nd.

Funding for the 2,000 square foot addition and scanner is being provided by the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Government of Ontario. Bruce Power is also contributing $1 million to the project.

The addition will be built south of the main entrance and will include a private CT suite, technologist area, patient prep room, waiting room, change room, washroom, and stretcher holding area.

A formal announcement from the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Community Health Care Foundation, and Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson is expected in the coming weeks.
