Bruce County warden's 2021 summary

Warden, Janice Jackson, says Bruce County had a successful 2021, despite challenges brought on by the pandemic.

Jackson says some highlights from the past year include providing pandemic relief funds to over 500 businesses, the launch of their paramedicine program, and the completion of their Master Transportation Plan.

Jackson says one challenge county council continues to tackle is affordable housing.

“We did build a new affordable housing apartment building in Kincardine, and we’re very proud of it. It’s a beautiful new apartment building. But we’re going to continue to look for affordable housing options. That’s very high on the priority list for Council.”

However, Jackson says there’s plenty to look forward to in 2022.

“We have a new CAO coming to Bruce County, we’ve got the elections coming up, both provincial and municipal, and also development. We’re cutting all the red tape, as much red tape as we can, and making Bruce County as attractive to developers as much as we can.”
