Thursday's Tunes return to Clinton

A very popular social event is returning to Clinton for the winter. Central Huron Community Improvement Coordinator, Angela Smith said Thursday's Tunes will be back, starting this Thursday.

The program was originally started in Seaforth as Tuesday's Tunes and was held outdoors during the summer and Clinton started it up indoors on Thursdays and held it at the Community Centre in the Libro Hall. Smith says Thursday's Tunes is an opportunity for anyone to join them to listen or dance to some old time fiddle music.

“I would think our average was probably in the eighties and on occasion over a hundred. We are limiting it to a hundred this year because of COVID. Local musicians that volunteer their time come and play for us and they take turns highlighting special songs for them,” said smith.

Smith added people will have to wear masks unless they're eating or drinking and proof of vaccination is required. Smith says there is a donation basket at the door but there is no fee to get in and it runs from one till 3:30 at the Community Centre in the Libro Hall, starting this Thursday.
