Huron Waves is sharing some Christmas spirit.
The organization was set up in 2020 to showcase local, national and international artists through a spring event.
But COVID-19 forced the group to change tunes.
Through December, Artistic Director John Miller sys this year's Huron Waves Christmas video will feature several well known local performers, including four actors from the original cast of the Blyth Festival's "A Huron County Christmas Carol".
Also, Thomas and Emily Beard, a brother and sister combination from Wingham, will play duets for harp and cello and the Clinton Legion Branch 140 Pipes and Drums will also preform.
There will also be some international flair.
“Probably the most famous name of all of the people will be Frank Leahy himself, playing Don Messer's fiddle and bringing his shows and colleagues together for a kind of country Christmas segment in the program,” said Miller.
There will also be some classical flair.
“We're highlighting a young seventeen-year-old pianist of exceptional talent from Goderich. His name is Hugo Russel and he'll be wearing his tails and bringing a kind of classical cache to the program as he plays two beautiful works by famous composers,” added Miller.
The video will be narrated by 101.7 The One's Julie B.
Miller says the Huron Waves Christmas video will be shown on most of the local community cable stations as well as on YouTube and Facebook as well as on the Huron Waves website starting at three o'clock on Sunday, December 12th.
