Pioneer Park in Bluewater featured in conservation authority's anniversary series

One of the featured municipalities in the the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority's 75th Anniversary series is the Municipality of Bluewater.

Communication Specialist, Tim Cumming, points out Bluewater includes the historic villages of Bayfield, Hensall and Zurich as well as five Lake Huron beaches.

And one of the truly unique spots along that shoreline is Pioneer Park in Bayfield.

“I think people will be really interested finding out about just how many years Pioneer Park has been there, how many years the Pioneer Park Association has been dedicated to maintaining that special property,” said Cumming. “The new ABCA 75th Anniversary feature article on Bluewater really talks about all of the different things the Pioneer Park Association and its members have done and how much work was involved.”

One of the biggest projects taken on by the Pioneer Park Association, along with several other volunteers, has been dealing erosion at the base of the bluff and that has been an on-going battle as water levels remain fairly high.
