UPDATE: Most power restored

Update at 4:30 p.m.

Hydro One crews were back out Wednesday morning after an overnight snowfall.

Power was knocked in a number of pockets through Huron County and parts of Bruce and Grey counties just before 6 a.m. The largest of which was an area covering North Huron west through Huron-Kinloss.

That led to over 1,700 Hydro One customers in one area to lose power. Also, the Hydro One feed to Westario was lost.

Scattered power outages remain in the Durham and Hanover area, as well as the North Huron area.

Restoration times are estimated at about 11 tonight.

Crews continue to work on repairs.

A Hydro One media spokesperson told CKNXNewsToday.ca that multiple branches on lines were the issue that crews had to handle.

The outages also triggered a number of school closures in Wingham, Lucknow, Teeswater and Ripley.
